Transit is an independent, community-driven reference for public transport networks around the world. It brings together route data, operator headways, indicative fares, sighting logs and live arrival boards in a single place, so a city's transport can be understood as a whole rather than operator by operator.
The platform is built for transport enthusiasts — timetable watchers, fleet spotters and the merely curious, wherever they are. Route pages cover operators, termini, key stops, first and last departures and service patterns; the live departure board pulls real-time arrivals straight from public open-data feeds where available; and a personal logbook lets each signed-in enthusiast record the specific fleet numbers and models they have spotted, kept private until a sighting is confirmed. Confirmed sightings count toward a global leaderboard that ranks the community's most active spotters.
Cities, routes and threads are community-added: any signed-in enthusiast can contribute their favourite city or a local route, and submissions go live once a moderator approves them. That keeps the reference trustworthy while letting the network grow beyond any one city.
Transit is built and maintained by an independent transport enthusiast. It is not affiliated with any operator. Fares, schedules and fleet details are indicative and compiled from public sources for reference — always confirm with the operator before travelling.
Everything here is a work in progress. Routes and cities are continually refined, new corridors are tracked as networks evolve, and the live feeds are kept as current as the operators' own open data allows.
